We are proud to announce that our assistant Malin Sophie Pimer very successfully defended her doctoral thesis on "The Role of Consumers in Corporate Communication: Strategies to Mitigate Environmental and Misinformation Risks" on February 26, 2026. Congratulations, Malin, to this excellent and inportant research!

In her thesis, Malin Pimper investigates the role of consumers in firms' communication strategies to mitigate today's two top global economic risks: environmental risks and misinformation. The three papers of her cumulative dissertation highlight different aspects of the communication process such as, 1) consumer-aligned communication to drive sustainable consumption, 2) information on purchase or return behavior in online retailing, and 3) consumer contribution to harm accurate and to combat deceptive advertising on social media.
