Phares Akari, Dr.

Phares Akari is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Mobility and Digital Innovation Management at the University of Zurich. He began collaborating with the Chair on research projects in April 2026 before officially joining in July 2026.
Phares’s research centers on corporate strategy, the economics of innovation, and technology commercialization. His work examines strategic decision making under uncertainty, with a focus on market entry and exit in R&D, competition, and how firms dynamically adapt their R&D portfolios in response to new information. His research primarily uses quantitative methods, combining modern econometrics with real-world data.
He has teaching experience in corporate and competitive strategy at the MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education levels.
