How can organizations make better decisions when facing uncertainty, competition, and limited resources?

At Business Analytics & Operations at the University of Zurich, we develop quantitative models and data-driven methods to understand, design, and optimize complex production and service systems. Across our research community, we work together to address topics such as revenue management, dynamic pricing, sustainable supply chains, circular economy, mobility and logistics, and fair resource allocation.

Using tools from stochastic modeling, optimization, mathematical programming, simulation, game theory, and empirical analysis, we translate real-world systems into actionable insights and robust strategies. As a group, we aim to understand how organizations can operate efficiently, fairly, and sustainably while navigating increasing uncertainty.

We publish in leading international journals, collaborate with industry and public partners, co-supervise PhD students, and host renowned researchers through regular seminars. Together, we advance research that is analytically rigorous, practically relevant, and grounded in evidence.
