OMTF Conference

David Seidl Robin Engelbach

A few days ago, part of our team participated in the annual Organizations, Management, and Theories of the Firm (OMTF) conference, this year hosted by USI Università della Svizzera italiana in beautiful Lugano.

The event was hosted by Prof. Nikolaus Beck (USI) and facilitated by Benedetta Abagnale, bringing together research groups from across Switzerland for two inspiring days of academic exchange and discussion.

From our Chair, Robin Engelbach and Sadi Kurt (our Researcher in Residence) presented their ongoing research on Inclusion-as-Practice in Open Strategy and Strategic Persistence from a Paradox Perspective, respectively, sparking rich discussions and valuable feedback from peers and professors.

The conference explored a wide range of topics, including AI and competitive advantage, responsible leadership, organizational identity work, corporate legitimacy in global crises, and strategic paradoxes, reflecting the diversity and depth of current management and organization studies across Swiss universities.

Beyond the academic exchange, the event offered wonderful opportunities to (re-)connect over lunches, coffee breaks, and a fantastic dinner with a breathtaking view on top of Monte Brè.

We are already looking forward to next year’s OMTF in Zurich, which will be organized by our team!
