Prof. Johannes Luger is awarded a WEAVE grant
Prof. Johannes Luger has been awarded a WEAVE grant in collaboration with Prof. Tobias Kretschmer (LMU/Imperial College) for their project "Shifting Competitive Landscapes in the Era of Platforms: Reference Group Selection on and off Platforms". The joint grant funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and German Research Foundation (DFG) is awarded for three years.
Platform businesses have become a key area of research across various management disciplines. While prior studies examined various elements of platform businesses, relatively little attention has been given to a central effect of them: the profound shifts platforms imply to a focal firm’s competitive environment. The project aims to examine how the rise of platform businesses influences a focal firm’s perception of its competitive landscape.
