Dr. Stephan Veen

Senior Research Associate at the chair of Prof. Dr. Uschi Backes-Gellner

Background: After studying at the University of Cologne, Stephan Veen graduated from the University of Zurich in 2005 and obtained his PhD in 2008 (Thesis Title: Demographic change, aging firm workforces and productivity effects). During his studies, he specialized in Econometrics, Personnel Economics and Demographic Change.He completed the reserve officers training of the German Bundeswehr and was deployed in Bosnien/Herzegovina for NATO. Current rank: Captain. In 1996 he visited a high school in USA for one-year.

Work Focus: Data Analysis, Stata Programming and Data Processing. Subject Coordination for the degree programme Management&Economics. Personnel and task coordination of the chair.

Research Interests: Diversity Effects of Age and Educationon Productivity and Wage. Age structure and heterogeneity effetcs in firms in a project of the academic workgroupAging in Germany, an initiative of Leopoldina and acatech, promoted by the Jacobs Foundation.
