Business and Personnel Economics
Welcome to the Professorship for Business and Personnel Economics!
The Professorship of Prof. Uschi Backes-Gellner is part of the Department of Business Administration.
We carry out research in three main fields, namely, Personnel Economics, Education and Innovation Economics and Industrial Relations. A special emphasis of our work is the empirical analysis of firm-level data.
Our research is supported by third-party funds from the Swiss Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (Swiss Leading House Economics of Education, Firm Behaviour and Training Policies, together with Prof. Stefan Wolter, University of Berne), the Swiss National Science Foundation, the German National Science Foundation, the Volkswagen Foundation, and the Jacobs Foundation.
