2. Possible research topics
The chair is interested in supervising theses with respect to financial accounting research, including topics such as economic consequences of financial regulation and standards, incentives behind specific accounting choices by firms, the effects of accounting on market competition, the causes and effects associated with IFRS adoption, etc.
Students are encouraged to identify and propose a research topic by themselves, as long as it falls in the general category of financial accounting.
A written application must be submitted at least one month before the desired starting month. (Due to the capacity reason, students are advised to contact the chair well ahead of time to ensure the availability.)
Application, research proposal and thesis must all be written in English.
The application includes the following documents:
- Research Proposal
- Curriculum Vitae
The research proposal should address the research question(s), motivation, methodology, potential bibliography and expected results of the study.
