1. General Information
Students must follow the general rules and instructions from the Dean’s Office, available here:
2. Possible research topics
The chair supervises theses in the area of financial accounting research, including but not limited to:
- Economic consequences of financial regulation and accounting standards
- Incentives behind firms’ specific accounting choices
- The effects of accounting on market competition
- Causes and effects of IFRS adoption
Students are encouraged to develop and propose their own research topic, provided it falls within the broad field of financial accounting.
3. Application
Applications must be submitted at least one month before the desired starting month.
Applications, research proposals, and theses may be written in either English or German. The application should include:
- Research Proposal (outlining the research question(s), motivation, methodology, potential bibliography, and expected results)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Transcript

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Line spacing: 1.5 line
Margin: Left, right 3 cm; Top: 2.5 cm; Bottom: 1.5 cm
Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, 1 line spacing
