Roman Gibel gave a presentation as an invited speaker at the “Business, Fascism, and the Erosion of Democracy” conference in Rome. In his talk, he presented findings and research ideas on the case of the FIFA World Cup in 1934 in Fascist Italy under Mussolini and what may be learned from this case for the role of sportswashing, responsible decision making by international sport federations and the moral ambiguity of organizations.
