Nicolas Bastardoz appointed Assistant Professor at KU Leuven (Belgium)

 

Nicolas Bastardoz accepted a new position as Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in the Department of Work and Organization Studies at KU Leuven. He started there in September 2021 after three years at the Chair of Human Resources Management and Leadership working with Prof. Dr. Jochen Menges and Prof. Dr. Lauren Howe. Nicolas will continue to act as Associate Editor and Methods Advisor for The Leadership Quarterly. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

UZH Mentoring Award 2021 for Prof. David Seidl

 

Professor David Seidl has received the UZH Mentoring Award 2021. This award recognizes supervisors of PhD candidates at UZH for outstanding mentoring and promotion of early-career researchers. The prize money is endowed with 5,000 Swiss francs. The award ceremony takes place during the Graduate Campus Annual Ceremony.

Inauguration ceremony for the new "Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON"

 

With an inauguration ceremony on Monday, October 25, 2021, the new "Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON" started its work. During the event, the new “Leading House VPET-ECON” received greetings and congratulations from Josef Widmer, Deputy Director of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), from Prof. Egon Franck, Director of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Zurich, and from Prof. Maximilian von Ehrlich, representative of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Bern. The ceremony was surrounded by greetings and historical remarks from its two co-directors, Prof. Uschi Backes-Gellner and Prof. Stefan C. Wolter.

Another highlight of the evening was the keynote speech by Prof. Harald Pfeifer, head of the department on “Economics of Vocational Education and Training” at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (bibb) in Bonn as well as professor of “Economics of Vocational Education and Training” at the “Research Centre for Education and Labor Market (ROA)” at Maastricht University. In his lecture, he focused on the role of  economic research on vocational education and training (VET) and reflected upon special features and challenges of VET research. He further explained the importance of VET research for policy makers and practitioners by providing examples of the actual benefits of VET economics and in so doing underlined the importance of future research by the Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON.

Agnes Bäker accepts Associate Professorship at VU Amsterdam

 

We are proud to announce that Agnes Bäker has received and accepted an offer of Associate Professor for Leadership at VU Amsterdam. Congratulations! She has also received and declined an offer of Associate Professor for People Management at University of Southern Denmark.

Dr. Julia Grimm accepted the post of Assistant Professor of Business Administration

 

Dr. Julia Grimm, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Business Administration (Prof. A Scherer), was offered and accepted the post of Assistant Professor of Business Administration with focus on Sustainability at the Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Jönköping University. Julia Grimm has assumed the position on September 1st, 2021. JIBS is double accredited (AACSB, EQUIS).
