Application Process

All students who are interested in writing their Bachelor’s or Master’s Thesis at the Chair of Marketing (Prof. Dr. Martin Natter) and the Chair of Marketing in the Digital Economy (Prof. Dr. Andrea-Giuffredi Kähr) please note that there is an application process in place. The respective application form will be published on this website during the given time windows as per below chart:

* If the first day of the application period falls on a weekend or public holiday, the application period starts on the following weekday.

** All applicants will receive a response regarding thesis supervision from our Chair within two weeks after the application period closes. Please be sure to check your UZH email account/provided email address regularly during this period. If we do not receive your response in time that you accept the supervision place, we will unfortunately have to assign it to someone else. 

*** It is the student's responsibility to meet the deadlines for targeted doctoral appointments. (See link: http://www.oec.uzh.ch/de/studies/general/graduation/degree-deadlines.html). If there are less than two months between the targeted doctoral deadline and the submission, please be sure to notify the supervisor early.


Information on the application process for your Thesis including FAQs, Chair Prof. Natter (PDF, 190 KB)

By applying for a thesis at the Chair of Marketing or the Chair of Marketing in a Digital Economy, you confirm the following two points:

  1. You can allocate sufficient time to work on your thesis (Master’s thesis: 30 ECTS * 30 hours = 900 hours, Bachelor’s theses: 18 ECTS * 30 hours = 540 hours).
  2. You will actively participate in the literature research courses provided by the Zentralbibliothek Zürich. These courses will be held on April11th or May28th at 5:15 pm. Additional information about the courses and the registration process can be found here: https://www.zb.uzh.ch/de/events.
