Performance Management

Performance management involves all activities that contribute to the sustainable improvement of institutions or organizational units. In particular, we are interested in the interaction between performance management systems and strategies for performance enhancement in decentralized units. In various case studies, we analyzed the learning process in decentralised organizational divisions and the successful reintegration of decentralized knowledge into the central unit. In addition, we empirically evaluated the learning processes in R+D cooperation among stock-listed enterprises in the German- speaking countries and identified negative effects that hinder mutual learning processes in cross-industry settings.
