Intercultural Management

In our increasingly globalized world, management practices and management theories may deviate from one country to another. From an intercultural perspective, we study cultural constraints in performance management. We are particularly interested in the control-trust nexus between hierarchies within organizational settings. We conducted large-scale surveys in business companies of Europe, the US, China, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina to measure differences in perceptions of control and trust at the workforce and management levels and to explain why a certain management approach may be effective in one culture, but fail in another.
