Research

We are among the leading business departments in the German speaking world and aspire to become one of the leading business departments in Europe. The Department of Business Administration performs both basic research as well as applied research and demands innovative science relevant to the business world and reflecting ethics.

We achieve our highly lauded goals by placing great value on the orientation of the candidates towards research as part of our career policy. In addition, we try to provide an excellent research environment to our ambitious new scientists. To do so, we use the broad features of the Universität Zürich, such as their mentoring program (research network for new scientists), the Graduate Campus and much more, in addition to features internal to the Department, such as the guarantee of a challengingly structured doctoral program and financing for participation at conferences and research residencies. Our professors' broad research network as well as the very good financial assistance options from the University of Zurich gives young talent the chance to realize their research goals at the international level, such as through research residencies at internationally renowned universities worldwide.

Managing Diversity at the Department of Business Administration also means numerous opportunities for including a full university into the research activities in addition to a multitude of business administration disciplines. Thereby, we provide our scientist the ability to develop themselves as individuals in a creative and responsible environment. In turn, the targeted research results benefit our economy, society and politics.
Currently, sixteen professors are researching five core fields: accounting and auditing, organizational and human resources, marketing, business policy and governance and management sciences under the roof of the Department of Business Administration.
